The ISN exists to provide news, support and a voice in the security industry to all those who install, operate, manage or are otherwise involved with all types of electronic security systems.

About Us 

The ISN welcomes all technical and non-technical personnel who are involved with Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Intruder Alarms, Access Control, Network IP, Fire Alarms, Electronic Eavesdropping, Covert Systems, Tagging (EAS), Perimeter Defence, Biometrics and all other electronic devices that are utilised in today’s security and surveillance industry. 

Our members are drawn from a wide range of disciplines and include installation engineers, project managers, systems designers, maintenance technicians and commissioning personnel - in fact everyone concerned with the operation, installation, design, maintenance and management of all forms of electronic security.

Facilities managers, security advisors to major corporations and many other end users throughout the public and private sectors who need to understand the problems associated with the selection and operation of electronic systems are among those who benefit enormously from ISN membership.

The ISN was founded by two of the UK's leading security systems professionals.

Mike Tennent is Managing Director of Tavcom Training, the UK’s leading supplier of security systems training courses. The company teaches the selection, installation, operation and maintenance of all types of electronic security systems including CCTV, Network IP, Access Control, Perimeter Defence and Intruder Alarms. Its students include installation engineers, control room operators, users, consultants and security managers at all levels.

Tavcom's clients include Central Government, Local Government, Police Forces, Armed Forces, Prison Services and commercial organisations from sole traders to multinational corporations.

Martin Kane is the principal consultant for Electronic Communications Solutions Ltd. Martin is a graduate and professionally qualified engineer whose experience within the electronics security field of intruder alarms, access control and closed circuit television spans 25 years.  His extensive knowledge has been gained in the United Kingdom, Europe, the Far East and the Americas in a variety of sectors; government, military, health service, blue chip companies, banking and education.
